About the Position

A post matric qualification in stock / purchasing management will be advantageous.
Knowledge and experience in stock / purchasing management.
Commercial orientation demonstrating understanding and applications of retail principles and arithmetic.
Operationalisation of business strategy within a retail environment.
Computer literacy in the following computer applications:Ms [URL Removed] at mastery [URL Removed] at mastery level.
Team player by working effectively with a team and peers.
Demonstrate planning, organizing and control skills by establishing a course of action for self and others.
Plan, do, and review skills to demonstrate effective work management
Analytical thinking to secure relevant information and identify key [URL Removed] awareness by demonstrating knowledge of company policies and procedures.
Display driven through self-motivation and a propensity for high execution
Understanding of retail trends especially within the hardware/building material industry2-3 years experience at junior to middle management level in a retail environment.

Manage and control perpetual inventory counts
Ensure investigation and correction of variances and invalid barcodes
Ensure investigation and correction of negative stock quantities
Ensure correct posting of stock adjustments
Ensure correct processing of write offs
Ensure control of scanners
Plan and prepare for ad hoc stock takes
Achieve shrinkage targets
Communicate with relevant role players
Ensure adherence to audit trails and audit trails and audit requirementsManage staff
