Sales Associate for a Mattress company based in Cape Town

We are currently in search of a Driven Sales Associate, for our retail store based in Cape Town. The ideal candidate must have extensive knowledge in selling of mattresses and beds to the hospitality industry

The duties:

Demonstrate sales leadership by playing the leading role with customers on the selling floor and being hands-on at all times.
Meet and exceed assigned sales targets and productivity objectives.
Have full knowledge of products, procedures and operations as extensively
Ensure the highest level of customer service, complying with the Customer Service Quality Standards and to the selling ritual as prescribed by the company.
Maintain the store in order, ensuring the internal layout and decoration is as it is prescribed by the company’s deco team, products are displayed in an orderly fashion, the store is clean, products are properly stored in the available storage space; and generally ensure the store’s upkeep whatever this may involve.
Assist with the store's business plan developing which should include promotional strategies that will allow the store to increase traffic and its customer base, with emphasis on developing the store’s position in the area in which it is located , following-up on leads and offers made to customers and other such actions.
Computer literate
SKILLS REQUIRED:

Energetic, proactive person with well-developed concept of the importance of providing a world-class guest experience, and the ability to provide that experience

Passionate about sustainable tourism and conservation
Driven, energetic, compassionate and ambitious, with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
Unrelenting attention to detail and high standards
Practical with some experience of island and boat maintenance
Open minded and able to think outside of the box
The ability to motivate and inspire yourself and others
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication
Competent financial and IT skills
Fluent in English essential

Qualifications:
3 Years sales experience in the bed industry
Degree/Diploma in Marketing would be advantageous

The successful candidate should have an enquiring mind, be methodical, pay attention to detail, be creative, show perseverance and patience, ability to work under pressure, ability to accept routine and mundane tasks, have high energy level, be flexible, have the ability to overcome obstacles and persist with the task at hand, be decisive and adaptable.
