Production Manager, PMB

Our client has a successful and growing food manufacturing business in Pietermaritzburg. They are seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee all production. The Production Manager will lead the production team and ensure compliance to safety and health requirements.

Experience in Foods manufacturing at a Supervisor or Manager level is critical.

Job Description

Manage production (day shift and night shift), working mainly day shift hours.
Manage production team – assign work, coach and supervise
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures and ensure all standards are in place (Quality, Food Safety and GMP’s)
Report any concerns or problems immediately
Inventory management
Demonstrate and display appropriate work ethic and leadership
Shift hand overs
Reports and communication

Minimum requirements

Matric + relevant tertiary qualification
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Foods Manufacturing at a Supervisor or Management level
Good knowledge of GMP’s, HACCP and safe food handling
Strong numerical and organisational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Assertive and adaptable to changing schedules and requirements
Ability to work night shift if/when required
Experience in dairy or frozen foods would be an advantage
