Our client, a market leading financial services organization, is currently seeking an experienced senior operations manager to take on the role of Chief Executive Officer for their Shared Services operations.

The Shared Services provides client services, administration and IT services to the various product houses and business units across the business cluster.

The focus is on optimizing the usage of all resources, both human and technological to ensure a competitive advantage for the businesses. The CEO is responsible for driving the business and taking the operations to the next level of delivery.

Shared Services provides input in to the development of the product house strategies and aligns its own strategy to those of the product houses.

The product houses define their target client experience, service levels and budgets and the Shared Services propose how they can assist them in achieving these goals through their service offerings.

The CEO and management team will be responsible for:

Leading the strategy development of Shared Services
Alignment of the strategy to the product houses and effectively implement the strategy.

Build and deliver a strong service provider culture, lead change and build capacity for the businesses
Develop and advanced commercial service model to allow Shared Services to:
Assist product houses to maximize control over their spend
Reduce costs where applicable
Receive enhanced services by increasing costs
Own service delivery performance objectives for all areas of responsibility, ensuring consistent, timely delivery


Areas of responsibility (approximately 1,500 employees):

Client Care Centre (Call centres and Client care offices)
Policy Administration
Claims processing
IT Strategy and Governance
IT Development and maintenance
Required for the role:

Solid knowledge and understanding of the financial services sector
Strong business management focus
Operational management
Outsourcing business management experience
Good understanding of broad IT operations and technology (non-technical)
Preferable with experience gained managing and developing a shared services function
Qualification:

Relevant Business related Degree
MBA or similar
Experience:

Minimum of 5 years senior executive management experience
Relevant industry related experience essential (financial services)
5-8 years’ service delivery / operations management experience
