Job Purpose The aim of the Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government is to employ a competent individual to render an administrative support to the Sub-Directorate: Freight. The successful candidate must possess the following personal attributes: The ability to handle conflict, render advice and guidance in an objective yet dedicated manner. This post is based in Cape Town.
Minimum Requirements Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification); A minimum of 6 months relevant experience.
Recommendation Experience in project management environment
Key Performance Areas Responsible for providing administrative support with regard to all freight projects and initiatives; Responsible for general administration which includes maintaining databases and preparing; letters and reports; Responsible for financial administration; Effect sound document management; Assist with meetings and logistical arrangements.
Competencies Knowledge of the following: Administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms and other office procedures and terminology; Applicable legislative and regulatory requirements, policies and standards; Proven computer Literacy (Microsoft Word, EXCEL, PowerPoint, Outlook); Communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
