Plant/Workshop Manager - Surfacing/Bitumen/Chip and Spray Plant

A large Construction material supply company operating throughout South Africa is looking for a suitably qualified Plant/Workshop Manager to look after and maintain a surfacing./Bitumen/Sprayer fleet.You must be prepared to travel throughout KZN.
Plant/Workshop Manager:

Responsibilities - Manage all preventative and corrective maintenance of the fleet
- Manage all legal requirements such as licensing, Calibration, COF
- Repairs & Maintenance on Earthmoving Plant/Heavy duty trucks including engines, brakes, clutch, suspension, limited electrics/Pneumatics/hydraulics
- Monitoring of Costs
- Stock control (parts)
- Administrative work such as job cards, purchasing, maintenance schedules, maintenance books etc.
- Health and Safety
- Upholding the Company’s policies and procedures
- Able to travel on breakdowns, and work away from home (site visits).

Inherent requirements - Good management skills

- Leadership skills
- Interested in also working hands on
- Good communication skills
- Team player
- MS Office experience-
Qualification Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic and or Diploma.
Experience 15 + years of which 10 years on earthmoving plant/Heavy Duty Trucks and Sprayers used in the Surfacing/Bitumen industry and 5 years supervisory experience as a Plant/Workshop manager
Reports to Branch Manager/ dotted line to Fleet Manager
No. of Staff reporting to Mechanics & Mechanics assistants
