Our client in the Tech industry is looking to appoint a Payroll Practitioner to join their dynamic team. The Payroll Practitioner will be responsible to manage the full payroll function and related client service & the role will report directly to the Managing Director.
Responsibilities
Ensure full adherence to legislative compliance, specifically as it relates to payroll, tax, and SARS
Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and audit payroll data
Balancing the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies
Ensure that the IRP5 consolidation and reconciliations are accurate and submitted to SARS timeously
Ensure that all employees receive accurate IRP5's timeously for individual tax assessments.
Managing the monthly and annual calculation of PAYE, UIF and skills development levies, medical aid and pension deductions and 3rd party deductions to ensure accurate and timely payment
Ensure payments processed timeously to 3rd Party Vendors
Identify any risks resulting from incorrect capture of staff personal and salary details
Identify any risk associated with incorrect payroll and tax procedures and implement corrections to system and/or process if necessary
Identify any financial and legislative risks associated with incorrect data capture, non-adherence to delegated signing authorities, payroll and back payments and lack of/errors in reconciliations
Maintaining payroll guidelines by writing and updating procedures and update relevant stakeholders on changes
Meet payroll financial standards by providing annual budget information; identifying variances; and implementing corrective actions
Prepare and maintain related payroll records and reports including creating and updating employee files
Maintain accurate records monthly, produce weekly payroll and administration reports highlighting progress, actions, trends, challenges, lessons learned, best practices etc
Responsible for providing first-level support to employees
Timely and accurate delivery of payroll and related client service
Experience & Skills Required
Relevant Diploma or Degree At least 5 yearsβ payroll experience
Experience with payroll tax and compliance requirements and benefits administration systems
Minimum of 5 years experience in a financial/payroll/auditing business function
Management of staff experience a must
SAGE Accounting & Payroll experience
Data Analytics
Strong Computer Skills
Excellent verbal and Communication Skills
