Medical Receptionist
Leading Medical Specialist Practice in Port Elizabeth, seeks to employ a Receptionist
Working Hours : 07h30 β 17h30 β one hour lunch
Remuneration : R13 000 per month (no benefits) + 13th cheque
Responsibilities:
Ad-hoc tasks as defined from time-to-time
Correct returned accounts received via post on Elixir
Courtesy call to patients that did not arrive for consultation booking
Creating and checking patient files
Diary consultation bookings
Drawing patient files and including statement from Accounts Administrator
Elixir Diary: managing of consultation appointments
Filing of patient files
General administration for position
Issue PMB/Chronic applications to patients
Issuing of Legal reports once paid / and filing hard-copy
Keep Clinical informed of Normal, Urgent and Emergency cases booked on the day
Maintaining pencil buckets and issuing children with sharpened pencils and colouring-in picture on boards
Manage Reception
Medical prescriptions β request and forward
Medical Reports β queries, faxing (if necessary) and filing / e-mailing scans / tests with medical reports to Optometrists / Doctors
MSV each patient file
Phone patients on Recall List (every Friday)
Phoning new patients the day before to advise to check benefits or private fees
Printing details for consultation verification
Receiving and receipting levies and private consults
Relief for other receptionists
SMS for following day diary
Switchboard / Reception
Update diary with Directorβs meetings / Dr Barclay out-of-practice / Port Alfred / etc.
Requirements:
Bilingual
Exceptional telephone etiquette and be polite and compassionate without lacking confidence
Be able to work well within a team
Able to work well under pressure
Excellent computer literacy skills is essential
Candidate must have a matric certificate with a minimum of 10 years working experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with a medical administrative background.
