Position

The main purpose of this position is to supervise, coordinate and execute all activities pertaining to the physical receiving, storage and dispatching of all products (eg. boxed meat and swinging beef) entering and leaving the plant.It also requires administering and managing subordinates as well as ensuring the maintenance, serviceability, cleanliness and control of all equipment and products in the plant.

Required skills and knowledge

Minimum Grade 12
Preferred a B degree or equivalent
3-5 years proven experience with a solid track record within the meat wholesale industry or similar environment
1 year cold store warehousing experience
In depth knowledge of the meat industry will be an advantage
Must be able to supervise/manage a team
Must have the ability to work long hours, under pressure and for extended periods in the cold store at sub-zero temperatures.
You must be able to work shifts as and when required which could include weekends

Good administrative knowledge/experience
Must have own transport
A high degree of business acumen
Experience in logistics will be an asset
Knowledge of the SAP system
