About the Position
RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out services and repair equipment locally and outside south Africa - specifically into Africa
Install and commission plants at various customers both national and internationally
Responsible for commissioning activities (hot & cold) as well as the completion of all associated documentation n
Ensure services and installed commissioned plant and equipment conforms to specification before being handed over
Ensure that the plant is handed over in a good working order to the client and documented accordingly project services / requirements
Downloading of various PTL Programmes, operating of water treatment plants via the HMI as well as the configuration of the various control setting and inputs
Ensure all instrumentation is installed calibrated, and currently terminated so as to communicate with the plant PTL
Maintain a neat and presentable demeanor at all times while interacting with the client appointed representative
Maintain the condition of your motor vehicle & tools in an acceptable manner
Manage expenses with the set budget
Assist with factory and performance testing
DUTIES
Investigate plant operation problem -submit reports noting and any modification to equipment to be supplied
Services and repair equipment of clients as instructed in each job issued
Record the services or repair of all work carried out of the service report sheet. The client details in full are to be filled inn
Ensure that the client sign report sheets acknowledging that he/ she is satisfied with the service carried out
Complete vehicle log sheet / time sheets weekly
Supervise / installation of contract equipment
Maintain site logbook. change order sheets work instruction book regularly
Ensure installation / commissioning program and procedures are adhered to;
Ensure that all plants are installed by our company are correctly, working, correctly and are operating according to the client specification
Train client operation post installation and commissioning prior to handover
Ensure all training registers are completed and returned to the representative project manager for record keeping traceably
Travel to all areas both nationally and internationally
Maintain safety precautions and sound housekeeping principals and due care of all equipment / assessment under / your control / care /.
Perform Safety assessment on all operational sites as well completing and maintaining all relevant safety documents for the operational site
Perform any duties required by your designated department manager
Ensure all equipment is setup, checked and recorded as operating according to the design before leaving site
QUALIFICATION /COMPETENCIES/ EXPERIENCE
Grade 12 / equal technical qualification (artisan) or assessed equivalent competence
Trade preferences: millwright, fitter & turner, electrical, instrumentation
At least five years related experience
Valid passport
Travel is an inherent requirement of the job function - the incumbent must therefore undergo the necessary medicals tests to be declared fit to travel and work prior to appointment in this position
The incumbent must be available to travel locally and internationally for training or related matters
Computer literacy
Excellent administrative skills
Strong knowledge of control instrumentation as all of all water treatment plants provided by company are fully automated
Water treatment process experience would be advantageous
