Job Description
To manage the food market with objective of maximising sales in line with budget and target
Sales
Maximise selling via selling space, displays, layouts, commercial sales plans and demos
Communicate sales target and promotions to staff. Identify in-store cross merchandising opportunities
Drive ad-hoc promotions to increase sales e.g. 4-day deals
Track weekly sales activities to adjust delivery forecast
Monitor sales to ensure sales target achieved
Marketing
Brand Management
Maintain product quality, evaluation of sales, supervising in store promotions
Interaction with technologists/ Head Office to ensure quality, sales and promotions are in synchronization
Ensure store promotions well executed in respect of planograms, displays, stock quantity, correct pricing and store ready for trade
Monitor in store pricing (Promotions On/ Off, Daily changes) and investigate price discrepancies
Provide continuous feedback to head office (competitor activity, promotions, product recalls, planograms, stock forecast levels)
Promotions/ Activation's
Manage weekly promotions and ensure all promotions implemented e.g. price tickets, promo banners, demo tables, special occasions launch etc.
Customer Relations
Ensure delivery of a consistent customer shopping experience in line with the agreed service levels e.g. consistent customer feedback, product advice and order placement
Resolve all customer queries, complaints and requests
Replenishment
Ensure timeous replenishment of stock
Ensure out of stocks are limited
Ensure shelf health is implemented and stock rotation maintained
Manage stock levels and determine stock to be ordered
Ensure planograms and category flows are maintained
Consistent quality checks to remove poor/ damaged stock
Trade Visits
Compile trade visits reports
Audit
Manage Foods operational standards and ensure that controls are adhered to for in store shrinkage, waste and stock accuracy
Adherence to Food standards (cold chain and long life) and Hot Foods Standards
Manage accurate and timeous completion of daily Stores Foods processes
Audit store hygiene - complete weekly risk documentation
HR Management
Conduct interviews
Assess skills needs
Manage succession planning
Conduct general staff training and development
Manage HR disciplines
Manage leave
Daily staff meetings
Manage rewards and recognition
