PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure an efficient operation by assisting the Cutter Operators so that optimum production rate is maintained on a continuous basis and in compliance with SHEQ.
REPORTING TO PRODUCTION FOREMAN

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the operator with all operations at the Will and Pemco wrapper.
Load back stands.
Assist the operator with loading a new wrapper reel.
Assist the operator when changing tapes on the will Cutter.
Assist the operator on the Inspector and Accumulator.
Assist the operator with the daily running of the Will Cutter.

Report any engineering defects to the Cutter Operator.
Responsible for efficient shift changeovers – ensure that all relevant information is passed to the incoming shift and no downtime is incurred due to the shift handover.
Perform any reasonable task allocated to him.
Assist the Cutter and Cartonizer Operators with any trouble shooting.
Carry out additional visual quality checks on the product being produced at the various stages of the production process (these checks are over and above the checks carried out by the Cutter and Cartonizer Operators)
Responsible for cleaning of the sheeter basement before end of shift.
Assists Foreman on breakdowns in the plant.
Assists in removal of broke skips when hyster driver is busy.
Assists the Willcutter Operator when knife changes are required.
Assist with opening of broke reams when generated from the production line.

KEY COMPETENCIES / SKILLS
Computer Literacy
Understanding of Plant Operations and Equipment Layout
Knowledge of General Health and Safety Risks and Practices
Knows and understands the principles and application of the Will Cutter

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Matric/ N3 Pulp and paper/ NQF L4 Qualification
N1 Pulp and Paper or equivalent
Two (2) years experience in a manufacturing enviroment, preferably paper production advantageous
Forklift license advantageous
