Senior Corporate Actions Specialist-Strate (Pty) Ltd

A position has become available for a Senior Corporate Actions Specialist to join our team.

Position reports to: Asset Services Equity Manager

Purpose Of The Position:

The purpose of this job is to perform daily operational duties and to undertake research and development for new business processes as part of the Corporate Actions Team.
To assist in the Manager/Team Leads of Strate’s Corporate Actions business unit by providing service excellence and maintaining business relationships to existing clients.
Critical Performance Areas Include:

Perform operational duties that are related to Corporate Actions. This includes Bonds, Equities, Money Market, Proxies and Warrants.
Build foundations for improving business processes;
Assist in ensuring an integrated view of business;
Facilitate negotiations between stakeholders to ensure most appropriate solution is reached;

Ongoing relationship building with external stakeholders to ensure the smooth processing of Corporate Events.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with Participants and existing clients who purchase data from Strate.
Analyse new business requirements for Equities, Money Markets and Bonds.
Ensure change requests are controlled and prioritised according to business objectives and requirements.
Ensure appropriate testing and training of new/enhanced systems from a business perspective.
Prioritise business requirements for system development or implementation.
Business change management, and / or facilitation thereof.
Ensure standards and consistencies are applied across all product areas.
Enable business communications between business areas.
Research and report on industry and market best practice.
Directive development.
Operational contingency.
Conflict resolution between business areas and external participants, particularly relating to business processes.
Minimum Requirements:

Degree/Diploma in Commerce or a related study is preferred.
Extensive market knowledge of Equities, Bonds and Money Markets as well as a minimum of 8 years work experience in this area of expertise.
