Fair Cape Dairies and its subsidiary, Fruitique, a progressive manufacturer of dairy products and fruit pulps and syrups, have an opportunity available for a Microbiologist at its facility situated in Killarney Gardens - Cape Town.



To provide testing service to production, by perfoming all microbiological tests on the final products, in- process QC monitoring samples and the factory to monitor compliance with food safety and environmental hygiene and sanitation standards.

Duties & Responsibilities
ISO, HACCP, GMP, Food Technology, World class manufacturing and quality practices and models, Specific product and process knowledge, Testing methods and tools used in Micro testing, Problem Solving Tools, Audit practices and principles, knowledge of SANAS practices and principles
Maintaining occupational health, safety and environmental legislation relevant to the food manufacturing industry
Problem solving techniques
Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures in the food-manufacturing environment
Knowledge of the effect of micro-organisms on personal health, hygiene and food safety
Monitor quality control practice in a food manufacturing environment, Knowledge of aseptic sampling methods

Skills

Ability to maintain Quality Management and Quality Control systems
Ability to carry out aseptic sampling tests in line with best practices
Desired Experience & Qualification
B.Sc: Chemistry or Biochemistry or Microbiology or Food Science or National Diploma Food Technology or equivalent qualification.
