Secunda Synfuels Operations (SSO) operates the world’s largest coal-to-liquids (CTL) facility and produces synthesis gas (syngas) through coal gasification and natural gas reforming, using Sasol’s unique and proprietary Fischer-Tropsch technology to manufacture synthetic fuel components, pipeline gas and chemical feedstock.
ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The role is limited for the duration of the Secunda Clean Fuels 2 Project.
To ensure that agreed on specification, production volumes are achieved, efficiently and safely.
To ensure that production contributes to the increase of the business growth.
To lead and manage a production team, ensuring supply of products through the acquisition and effective innovative usage of resources
Continuously ensure adherence to all quality, safety and legal requirements.
Continuously optimize processes to ensure maximum output.
Ensure sustainable plant performances.
Ensure equipment are operated within the OWAP principles.
Align day to day shutdown and equipment outage with the value chain.

 

 
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
Planning, control and management of operations /maintenance activity.
Manage and control pipeline activities and relevant assets.
Manage field operations personnel
Meet Operations production target in line with production schedule
Ensure effective execution of operations/maintenance activities

JOB REQUIREMENTS
In addition to a pre-employment medical examination, some positions may require a physical fitness assessment as part of the normal selection criteria
A valid driver’s license

Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 with Maths, Science, English AND NQF4 occupational Trade Qualification: OR NQF4
academic qualification (with the NQF4 Occupational Trade Qualification).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in relevant field as a Process Artisan and identified and measured Leadership competency.
Years’ experience necessary will depend on the complexity of the plant and technology.

OR
Grade 12 with Maths, Science, English OR NQF 4 academic qualification
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in relevant field as a Senior Process Controller and identified and measured Leadership competency.
Years’ experience necessary will depend on the complexity of the plant and technology.
